Andy Sandberg and his acclaimed directing and producing

"Hermitage Artistic Director and CEO Andy Sandberg was featured recent in the @nytimes as part of Michael Paulson’s fascinating piece on why more Americans are bringing plays to London.

“There is a challenge in the commercial industry in the U.S., so a lot of projects are being pitched as philanthropy and not as viable business models,” Sandberg said. “London has provided an interesting alternative model that is friendlier to investors without compromising the quality of the work.”

Beyond his role at the Hermitage, Andy is a director, writer, and Tony Award-winning producer. We are excited to share that he will be directing and producing an entire season of new plays at Riverside Studios in London, starting in September of 2026. Though the details and specific plays aren’t yet announced, Hermitage friends and followers will of course, be the first to hear more as plans are revealed.

Though Andy will be back and forth between the U.K. and Florida for much of next season, rest assured Andy will still be at the helm of the Hermitage and supporting his fellow artists… even while he’s bringing some incredible new works to life “across the pond.” We can’t wait to see what he has in the works!"
